FEE STRUCTURE (2026-27, confirmed from Hobsons Bay City Council Annual Budget 2026-27, pp.88-90): TWO SEPARATE FEE STREAMS — (1) FOOD ACT REGISTRATION via FoodTrader: Class 2 Food Vehicle (on-site cooking of potentially hazardous food — food trucks): $742/yr. Class 3 Food Vehicle (lower-risk handling — coffee vans, pre-packaged food): $515/yr. Additional vehicles: $361/yr each. Annual renewal, valid calendar year January–December. Register via FoodTrader (foodtrader.vic.gov.au). Renewal notices sent November; must be paid by 31 December. (2) MOBILE VENDOR SITE PERMIT (separate, required to trade on Council-controlled land including parks, foreshore, footpaths): Tier 1 / Itinerant Sites — Annual Local: $2,814; Annual Non-Local: $4,334; Monthly Local: $703; Monthly Non-Local: $1,082. Tier 2 Sites — Annual Local: $1,868; Annual Non-Local: $2,881; Monthly Local: $467; Monthly Non-Local: $720. Application fee (Tier 1 & 2): $123. NOTE: "Local" means the business is registered in the Hobsons Bay LGA; "Non-Local" is all other operators. Altona foreshore and Williamstown waterfront are popular Tier 1 sites — limited and competitive. SOT required via FoodTrader at least 1 business day before each event. EHO inspection required for new mobile food businesses. Covers Williamstown, Altona, Newport, Laverton, Spotswood areas.
