In short: CouncilReady is a free reference guide, not professional advice. Council fees and requirements change without notice. Always confirm current figures directly with the council before you budget, apply, or trade.
What CouncilReady is
CouncilReady publishes a free, non-commercial summary of mobile food vendor registration fees, approval lead times and compliance requirements for Australian local government areas. Every figure is compiled from publicly available council fee schedules and published guidance, and each council page shows the date that figure was last verified.
Accuracy and your responsibility to verify
We compile this information carefully and re-verify it against primary council sources, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, current or free from error. Councils amend fee schedules, restructure permit categories and change insurance minimums at their own discretion, frequently at the start of a financial year and sometimes mid-year.
Figures shown on this site are a starting point for your research. They are not a quote, an estimate, or a commitment by any council. Before you rely on any figure to budget, apply for a permit, price a job, or make any commercial decision, confirm it directly with the relevant council. Where a page links to the council's own page, that council's published information prevails over ours in every case.
Not professional advice
Nothing on CouncilReady is legal, financial, insurance, tax or regulatory advice, and nothing here takes account of your particular circumstances, business structure or objectives. Public liability insurance minimums shown on council pages describe what a council states it requires; they are not a recommendation about what cover is appropriate for your business. Decisions about insurance, business structure and regulatory compliance should be made with a qualified professional.

Some pages link to third-party services, including BizCover, an insurance comparison service. Where a commercial arrangement exists, CouncilReady may receive a referral fee if you obtain a policy through that link, at no additional cost to you. These links are marked on the page where they appear. We are not a broker, we do not arrange or issue insurance, and we do not receive or handle your details — any information you provide goes to that third party under its own terms and privacy policy.
A commercial arrangement does not affect which councils we cover, the fee figures we publish, or the order in which anything is presented.

We link to council websites, government portals and other external resources for your convenience. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or availability, and a link is not an endorsement.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CouncilReady is not liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, information published on this site, including fees paid, applications rejected or delayed, or business decisions made on the basis of a figure that has since changed.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Reporting an error
If a figure on this site is wrong or out of date, please tell us at hello@councilready.com.au and we will verify and correct it. Corrections are the fastest way this resource improves.
Use of our data
You are welcome to use CouncilReady for your own research and business planning. Systematic scraping, bulk extraction or republication of the compiled dataset is not permitted without written permission. Individual fees are matters of public record; the compilation, verification and structuring of them is our work.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above.
