What you need to know

TWO PROCESSES: (1) Food Act registration via FoodTrader — register with principal council. SOT required at least 10 days before each event (more restrictive than most VIC councils). (2) Itinerant Traders Permit — required to trade on any road or Council land. Must comply with Greater Shepparton City Council's Itinerant Traders Policy. Sales must be made from the side of the food van facing the footpath only, unless otherwise agreed by Council. Annual registration valid calendar year, paid by 31 December. EHO inspection required for new mobile food businesses. Covers Shepparton, Mooroopna, Tatura areas — major Goulburn Valley regional centre.
