What you need to know

Food vehicle applications must be lodged through FoodTrader (not the fixed premises form). As a new business, EHO will contact you within 10 business days to assess application and advise classification and fee. Invoice emailed within 5 business days; pay within 7 business days; EHO then inspects within 10 further business days. Registration period is calendar year January–December. No pro-rata fees. If registering before 30 September, full year fee applies; if after 1 October, fee rolls over to next year. FEE STRUCTURE (2026-27, confirmed from geelong.vic.gov.au, page last updated 9 July 2026 — approximate ranges, subject to change): INITIAL REGISTRATION: Class 1 $528–$1,587; Class 2 $485–$2,594; Class 3/3A $249–$1,048. RENEWAL: Class 1 $352–$1,058; Class 2 $668–$1,729; Class 3 $323–$668; Class 3A $166–$323. Not-for-profit/charity/community group Class 2 and 3/3A: $123–$485. No fee for Class 4. PERFORMANCE FEE: $207–$346/yr added to next renewal if inspection grades below A. All fees set by EHO after assessment — exact amount advised after FoodTrader lodgement. Street trading on public roadsides requires SEPARATE Council local law approval. SOT required via FoodTrader at least 1 business day before each event. Renewal notice issued before 31 December.
