What you need to know
Register Class 2, 3 or 3A via FoodTrader; Class 4 must notify via FoodTrader. Allow at least 14 days for processing. Annual Food Act registration, paid by 31 December (pro-rata quarterly if applying mid-year). EHO inspection required annually; annual inspection and first follow-up included in registration fee. Further follow-up inspections ~$290 each. SOT required via FoodTrader at least 1 business day before each event — no fee for SOT. No SOT needed for private non-public events (weddings, work functions). Class 2 requires Food Safety Program. Class 2 and 3A must have a Food Safety Supervisor. Fundraising on Council/public land requires a separate Fundraising Permit. Class 3 businesses not required to have FSP or FSS but recommended. Covers Camberwell, Hawthorn, Kew, Balwyn areas.
