What you need to know
Register via FoodTrader (foodtrader.vic.gov.au). FoodTrader automatically notifies Banyule as your principal council. Annual registration, paid by 31 December. EHO inspection required before registration is granted for new businesses. SOT required via FoodTrader at least 1 business day before trading. For trading at markets, fetes, festivals, or on Council land, you must also lodge an SOT covering that specific location. Food Safety Supervisor required for Class 2 (high-risk) premises. Covers Heidelberg, Ivanhoe, Greensboro, Rosanna areas. Food Act registration fees unconfirmed — contact Environmental Health on 9490 4222 for current Class 2/3 fee schedule. Verified 15 July 2026 — mobile food fee still not published online; contact Council directly.
