What you need to know

Register via FoodTrader (foodtrader.vic.gov.au). Annual Food Act registration, valid calendar year, paid by 31 December. EHO inspection required for new mobile food businesses. SOT required via FoodTrader at least 1 business day before each event. Trading on ski resort leasehold land (Mount Hotham, Falls Creek, Mount Buffalo) requires approval from the relevant resort management board IN ADDITION to Council registration — contact each resort's management board directly. Trading on Council-controlled land requires a separate local law permit. Ski season (June–October) and summer hiking season drive peak demand.
