What you need to know

THREE STEP PROCESS: (1) Plan Assessment — submit kitchen floor plan + elevations via MyCouncil (mycouncil.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au) or email to health@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au. Pay plan assessment fee ($797 in 2026-27, $752 in 2025-26). If not pre-approved by a prior Sunshine Coast Council plan assessment, new fit-out plan required. (2) Food Business Licence Application — issued after plan assessment approved; includes fee (amount varies by category — contact Council). (3) Final Inspection — EHO inspects vehicle before licence issued. Eligible vehicles: must be able to conduct all food handling within the vehicle. NOT eligible (apply for temporary food stall licence instead): hot dog carts, pizza ovens on box trailers, ice cream carts, vehicles where you stand outside to handle food. Annual renewal required.
