What you need to know

FOOD LICENCE FEES (2026-27, CONFIRMED): New vehicle — $999 design assessment + $566 annual licence fee. Annual renewal — $566. Change of ownership — $562 application + $566 licence. Pro-rata on licence fee only: 50% off after 1 March, 75% off after 1 June. Charities/NFP: 50% off. All fees GST-free. FOOD LICENCE: Mobile food vehicles require one food business licence in Queensland — once issued by Logan (vehicle garaged there), the licence is valid across QLD. Licence period: 1 September–31 August. Separate approvals needed for different land types: (1) PRIVATE LAND — landowner consent only; no additional Council approval typically required. (2) COUNCIL LAND/PARKS — contact Council for approval requirements; check specific park/reserve conditions. (3) STATE-CONTROLLED ROADS — Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads may have requirements. (4) ROADSIDE FOOD VENDING (Local Law No. 9) — separate itinerant vending licence applies if trading from roads as a hawker. Food Safety Supervisor required for potentially hazardous food.
