What you need to know

CRITICAL: Waverley operates a closed tender licence system — only a limited number of mobile vending licences exist, awarded by tender in December 2023 for 5-year terms. Next tender not expected until approximately December 2028. New operators CANNOT apply for a licence — register with Vendor Panel (vendorpanel.com.au) to be notified when the next tender opens. All food businesses operating in the LGA still require annual food business registration with Council (financial year basis, allow 10 business days processing). IMPORTANT: Licences cover beach refreshment and coffee/beach-related vending services — traditional food trucks are not part of this scheme. There is currently no pathway for food trucks to conduct general street trading in the Waverley LGA outside of approved events. Covers Bondi Beach, Bronte, Coogee areas.
