What you need to know
TWO STEPS REQUIRED: (1) Register for an eServices account at centralcoast.nsw.gov.au, then submit a Temporary and Mobile Food Business Notification for each event/location — form at centralcoast.nsw.gov.au/council/forms-and-publications/form/temporary-and-mobile-food-business-notification-form. Annual financial year registration basis. (2) PUBLIC LAND TRADING — as of July 2026, Central Coast Council is implementing a new online registration and calendar-based booking system for designated public trading locations, following a Council resolution in November 2025. Draft Local Approvals Policy finalised mid-2026. Contact Council to confirm current status of public land trading pathway. IMPORTANT: Prior to July 2026, mobile food vendors largely operated on private land or at events on Council-managed land — the new public land system is a significant change for this LGA. Proof of existing food registration allows trading outside the LGA without additional fees. Inspections at any event by EHOs may incur a fee. Food Safety Supervisor required. Covers Gosford, Wyong, Terrigal, Woy Woy, Tuggerah areas. Contact: 02 4306 7900. PUBLIC LAND FEE, 2026-27 adopted schedule line 1631: ‘Trade of a Mobile Food Vending on Public Roads/Land’, $541.25 per year. This is the charge for the new public-land trading system and is separate from food business registration, which remains $0 upfront. Confirm whether it is charged once annually or per booked location. FEE STRUCTURE (registration, 2025/26, unconfirmed for 2026-27): No upfront annual registration fee — Central Coast uses an inspection-based model. Notification fee: $0. If inspected by EHO during an event: inspection fee ~$97 + administration fee ~$118 = ~$215 total. There is no fixed annual charge, which is why no yearly fee is shown above — budget around $215 for inspection visits.
