What you need to know

FEES (from Marion's 2026–27 Mobile Food Vendor Permit form, checked September 2026): $2,205/yr, $235/month, $60/day for special/community events. The form lists these amounts excluding GST. LOCATIONS: Pre-approved sites only (Glandore, Hallett Cove, Seacombe Gardens, Sheidow Park, South Plympton, Trott Park and others). Marion completed a location review in 2025 with community consultation — new and modified sites effective from October 2025 council decision. TRADING RULES (October 2025 council decision): Hours 8am–9pm, vacate by 9:15pm; max 2 vans per site first come, first served; no app-based delivery sales while at council sites; some sites have earlier close times (Jervois Street Reserve: 6pm winter / 7pm daylight saving). Section 222 permit applies to roads, verges, nature strips, footpaths and road reserves. Community land (reserves, libraries) requires a separate permit. Ice cream vendors are exempt from Section 222 permit. FOOD NOTIFICATION: Free SA Food Business Notification with home council required before trading.
